Methodist Hospital Prepares for Emergencies All nursing units should click on "STEP 2" below to report their patient census and staffing. Nursing Administration will send out messages to inform you what time to provide updates. Click on "Step 3" to monitor or send emergency communications. Follow the links to the subject line labelled "Joint Commission," then click on "comment" to add your message or question. Please DO NOT click the "CREATE NEW TOPIC" link. We want all communications to be channeled through the "JOINT COMMISSION" chat room. Union County personnel can use this as well to communicate to the hospital Command Center "Doctor's Alert Phase I or II" USER INSTRUCTIONS When a "Drs' Alert Phase I or II is announced, each department or unit must assign a designated reporter or "Sit Stat" person to monitor Fast Command and report conditions to Command Center. Immediately after signing on, "Sit Stat" person should complete the following steps: Step 1. Click here Emergency Incident Message Form and send an initial message to Command Center reporting that unit's readiness and staffing status. Step 2. All patient care units must report their current patient census, bed availability, and staffing by clicking here: Report patient census, bed availability, Staffing Level Step 3. ALL UNITS must monitor and report any significant conditions or needs using the "LIVE ACTION LOG" system. Remember to refresh your screen frequently. SHUTTLE SERVICE REQUEST FORM When Phase I and II is announced use the following steps: (Alternate Method to 3 step process described above) USER INSTRUCTIONS Upon being informed of a "DRS' ALERT" Phase I, Phase II, or other emergency situation, each department, unit, and Off-Site Facility must: 1 Click on "Communications" link at top of main page, then click "Emergency Incident Message Form" Fill out form, then click submit. 2. Click on the "Situation Status" heading at top of page, then click the "Patient Unit Reports" link to submit your departments patient census> 3. Click on the "Communication" link once more, click on "Live Action Logs" then log onto the Incident Message Board. For the Drill, use the "DEcember 14 Drill board. IMPORTANT TIP: When using or monitoring the LIVE ACTION LOG screen, it is VERY important to click the "Show all messages for this topic" link at the top of the screen every 2 or 3 minutes. This will immediately update the log and bring up everyone else's messages. This log does NOT update itself automatically like many chat rooms.
